Sweat. Pain. Satisfaction.
These were the very things I felt after my first workout with Crossfit Nation. Squats, man-makers, rope climbs, and kettlebell swings. It was a first impression unlike any of which I had before.
My rowing team chose Crossfit as a supplementary workout to do twice a week. I showed up with enthusiasm and energy and left sore, and questioning the real state of my fitness. I considered myself in pretty decent shape—I ran, I rowed, and I could do my fair share of pull-ups and sit-ups, but this thing they called Crossfit made me feel exhausted.
But after a few weeks, I noticed that I could accomplish more—faster! I actually looked forward to testing myself physically every day, and by the end of my rowing season, I had become stronger in nearly every element of fitness. Not only did I kill seconds off my mile time, I noticed myself becoming better at my sports in high school, along with countless other activities. But after the season ended, so did the Crossfit classes.
I missed it. I wanted more.
Needless to say, I had to come back. After about a year or so, I left for Army basic training, and found myself fully physically prepared for what the Army had to throw at me—all to the credit of Crossfit nation. That’s when I realized the full potential and reasoning behind Crossfit. It really does prepare you to do anything that stands in your way—be it picking a heavy box off the floor, climbing a mountain, or fighting a bear.
Crossfit will make you the person YOU want to be, as well as prepare you to live your life with confidence and prowess. The coaches motivate you, correct you, and set the example. It was after all of this that I decided that I, too, wanted to help people succeed. My goal is to help you accomplish whatever you want to accomplish—be it doing a pull-up, running a marathon, training a weakness, or just getting yourself into a healthier lifestyle.
It is my goal to consistently inform myself of all the movements of Crossfit so that you can train as safely and effectively as possible, while still accomplishing your goals. Listening to your body is key, and learning the movements from the ground up is imperative. I am here to go on this journey along with you, so you can not only be motivated, but stay safe.
I look forward to getting stronger with you!
